Hello again , dear friends ... so , there's a question I've been asking myself for quite a long time now..  I've been studying in constanta for 2 years now and during that time,  3 times  have I been exposed to what I thought were threatening traps of  underage "escorts" ...   The first time  was in my very first month living in constanta, my friend and I were asking for good places to "relax" in town , the taxi driver suggested a few places he knew etc.. but then  (and since we didn't know yet the average prices) , when  the taxi driver asked us what our budget was, we said around 500 lei each , and he then proposed a far more expensive place where , according to him,  escorts ages 16-18 were proposing services...    I really started to freak out , not knowing what to do or say ... thinking that we might be recorded or even filmed... I started to get paranoid about what happens in russia with the vigilantes tracking , beating up  and humiliating suspected pedos and then posting videos online... so yeah my friend saved face and we asked him to drop us at the city mall ... but what I forgot to tell you is that we were both 18 and 19 at the time , so he may have thought that was okay for us ... but still ,that's illegal, so we prefered not taking any risks to go to deadly romanian prisons and have our faces show up in the tv news lol 

 

But then 5-6 months later, a similar story occured to me ... It was late at night, somewhere around midnight, I was walking alone from the remotely situated mall Maritimo after watching a movie, because I decided not to take a taxi...  I know I should do this, because It's quite dangerous at such an hour  but I needed some fresh air...   and then halfway to the city, an street girl ( can't tell if she was a gypsy or not, but she was decently clothed and looked barely dark skinned) stopped waving at cars and approached me ...  I gently made her understand that  I wasn't in the mood... so she came after me and told me that there were younger girls waiting on the other side of the road, in a bush that were 16 ...     then I thought to myself, holy shit! it's happening again ,am I being followed by the romanian secret service or something?  But I calmed down and walked away without saying a word...  I kept thinking about what just happened though..  could it have been a trap?  

 

And the story repeated itself yet another time folks !.. well not really   but , last week...  after a long boring day... I decided to go for a bus trip to the city center to hang out and take photographs (i'm an amateur photographer btw)  , instead of the taxi...    and in that almost empty bus, a guy talked to me out of the blue... He asked me where I was from because according to him romanians rarely ever smile.. lol It's true I had a relatively happy face .. anyway..  we moved on to politics... Ukraine, proximity of Crimea , he told me he was working at the port etc... and we started to talk about girls , and from girls to escorts.. so naturally haha  ^^    And that guy then surprised me , by telling me that some of the most expensive ones were to be found south of constanta in towns like eforie and mangalia, where teens , some barely 17 , were charging up to 250 euros an hour ..  and that it was considered by the rich single men as a rare and sometimes dangerous delicacy... omg .. he was talking about them like some sort of exclusive pastry xD   but anyway...   I didn't dare asking too many questions but that intrigued me...

 

Are underaged escorts really a thing ? Or are jailbaits just a way for the police to throw behind bar people they have on their watch list?  That's seriously freaking me out everytime I think about it... many times did I enjoy the services of young looking escorts but I really don't have any proof that all of them were saying the truth about their age...

you have been smart enough to decline such shady offers. The new local law doesnt send to prison punters who pay girls for sex,only escort girls get a ticket and thats it,but it does send to jail men for fucking underage girls.

Do u take drugs, why u are so paranoic?... even the life standard  is not so pink(except this site), we are not yet in jungle or ex soviet countries, for thinking about police or secret services they have a clear purpose to put u in prison .Most,ok not all, but 90% of taxi drivers are some kind of ’semi-pimps’, they take 20-50 ron commision from girls for each customer delivered(this is happen everywhere in the world, especialy in pink neighborhoods of teh big cities).

I dont know from where u are country/city, but Constanta is more safe in the night time than Barcelona, Marseile,London, Neapole, Amsterdam,SaintPauli with their bad neighborhoods ...and belive me,excepting north and south poles, I was every where.Ok, if u are so stupid and u let u mobile or the wallet on the table in night clubs is possible to remain without.

Possible some bastards to take advantage from some stupid underage girls, but this is not a rule, if they catched by police they go stright to jail(see Pink Cats Massage).

Relax , u and the rest of expats, girls they are acting same everywhere with everyone, doesnt matter the passport, they want nice life and easy money.

@Steffen, unfortunately, in our country there are quite many underage girls starting prostitution.

I hope this situation will go down if the economy will develop and the social policies will become more effective. Until than maximum attention to very young girls to avoid making something illegal. I'd ask them to show the id. If they don't want, than bye-bye!

About the romanian secret services, indeed, all the methods are good for them to obtain information but related to your story you are too paranoid.

It's unlikely that the experiences you mentioned had something to do with "jailbaits".

However, the safest policy is always better safe then sorry...

 

If, at any time, you suspect anything about the girl, just ask to see some ID.

If they don't want to show you... like Chris said - the safest way is to decline the offer and go look some place else. This shouldn't be a problem, since you're currently in a big city where you have plenty to choose from.

 

Last but not least, check the Constanta section of this forum, maybe try the ladies which constantly receive good reviews. Even if it's in Romanian, Google translate should be enough to get an idea. Should you need clarification, just ask over here, I'm sure someone will help!

You guys are awesome ) But I'm not sure that feeling a bit paranoid from times to times is a bad thing considering how quickly a mistake can put you behind bars for a long, long time
