Do girls in Romania hate foreigners? Help!

Okay guys, I'm asking you this because I feel that my romanian friends weren't really honest when I asked them for advice about my difficult love life...  they told me that if I'm having so much trouble finding someone I like that likes me back ( I mean for real, not for my money)  it's because  romanian girls like fat guys, old guys,  or that they don't like to speak english or that they're racist or they like superficial jerks etc, etc...    Obviously I didn't believe them, with 22 million people in romania I should find someone suitable ! ... right? 

 

Well you guys might think I'm a bit ridiculous asking this in front of all you guys, but I'm not afraid of being laughed at, because I consider that it's a big issue for many young foreigners living in romania, why is it so hard for us to get girls?   Especially for me who was quite successful back in germany and france... I'm thin, not that bad looking , according to most, tall and friendly ...    so why ?  Why are romanian girls so picky ?  I mean not all those running after your wallet, but those will not ask for anything but you ?    I mean, escorts are amazing , I know, but after some time I got scared that I would end up single during all that time in Constanta...    

 

Guys please help,what's your secret?  I'd be infinitely grateful !

I think girls are same no matter where country are they from. Getting out often,visiting different places like clubs,pubs,restaurants etc to be exposed will make you interact with various girls.Also finding common things togheter and interacting with them meaning the first step for a relationship. Becaming friends with them will be the second step and getting more close to them will be a relationship.

They are just mean ! Best advice that i can give you is to know exactly what you want and what you can offer. For example if you want a young , attractive, tall, beautiful girl you need to have something to attract her, to impress her . Why? In Romania guys are flirting a lot with beautiful women so you need to have something different. It helps that you are a foreigner but get something more , like a nice car or nice clothes .

If you want an average looking girl then you are lucky, just being nice guy and a foreigner helps. Just asking for places to party or directions around town will do wonders and get you a date!

I can also give you a very mean advice (that will work) , just buy some nice clothes and act like you are a rich foreigner . To maximise the effect , get some photos with a nice house from a friend/cousin/relative something and show them if a girl doesn't believe you ! Sometimes in love you have to play dirty !

Like it has been said before, the most difficult is probably ot catch the attention of someone. The story about nice clothes, it's true, you have to take care of you if you want to attract someone. About the car, seriously??? I you want to find someone for you and not for your money, impress with a big car will just do the reverse, attracting people for what you have and not what you are.

Romanian girls don;t hate foreigners about this I am sure. All my friends are Romanian and usually I run away from foreigners who think they are the kings of the countries because they have money. That;s why also I speak romanian as much as I can.

 

I just think we are not looking at the right place, or are the right girls.

 

Also maybe you just have the same problem than me, lack of confidence, of self esteem and fear to be rejected.

EXACTLY!!! The only girls that stick to you ( IF they do ) are interested in your money...  To approach them yeah, you need to pass the first barrier, which often is ... sadly, the

 language barrier...    I've been learning romanian for a year but it's still not enough to pick up girls, and when I try talking english to them (let alone german)  there's 40% chance she says she doesn't speack english, 40% chance she does speak english but is uncomfortable   doing so and maybe 20% chance she might get be fluent but doesn't grant you success either ... 

 

I do have kinda the same problem , but to overcome that fear of being rejected I tend to have a friend around when I'm hitting on girls so I have someone to turn to to save face if I get rejected... ^^'

@Steffen: I think your main problem is the language barrier. Here the average people speaks normally average to low English (which is the most popular foreign language) or French or German or Italian. What you need to look for is a girl with a high level of education first, rather than other "attributes". If the lady can easily communicate with you and you can find common subjects and interests, I'm pretty sure you can find the proper relationship. But, unfortunately, indeed, being a foreigner with a better income that a local guy (theoretically), the expectation for some material advantages (not essentially expensive gifts or money) will exists no matter how much the girl will like you as a person. Until she doesn't realize what kind of person you are and to like you for what you are, you have to keep her somehow near you, otherwise she will never know who you really are and will move to a Romanian guy with which is much more easier to communicate.

Steffen, I don't think it's the case that Romanian girls hate foreigners.

 

However, I'm in my early 20's as well, and at this age it's usually hard to find a girl that doesn't already have a boyfriend. Online dating is usually the best way to find a single girl, but that hasn't really took off in Romania yet.

 

Like walexy said, try to go for educated young women. So, maybe hang out at the bars close to the university in Constanta, most of the girls that made it through universitity should be fluent in english. Also, since you're a foreigner living in Constanta, are you looking for something long term, or just some hook ups? If it's the latter, going to escorts is actually cheaper in Constanta than taking a woman on an actual date, so keep that in mind.

 

If you are looking for something more long term, I think it's best not to play the foreigner with money card too much, since you don't want some girl to fall for you just for your potential income. Keep in mind that if you go for a woman with a higher level of education, you're more likely to find someone who won't be impressed by your earnings potential, and you'll actually have to use your personality to attract her (hard, I know )

Someone mentioned that if the guys on here were so good with women, they wouldn't need to go to escorts. I don't think that applies to foreigners in this case. It's actually cheaper to go to an escort in Constanta (or Romania overall) and pay 2-300 lei/hour than to take a woman on an actual date and then get a hotel room. This is true especially considering foreigners are probably not looking for something long term while they're in Romania for work or vacation.

We have a lot of foreigners in Romania, not many plans to spend their life here or to bring their Romanian girlfriend home when they go back…

Most of them have already somebody back home…

So no wonder that most girls see them only as a financial opportunity.

As a woman, but mostly as a Romanian citizen, I do hate those who come here with an arrogant attitude, thinking they are better than anybody else, but count every penny because Romania is a poor country and people here have to appreciate peanuts, especially that everyone seems to be after their money…

But there are, of course, other foreigners with better thinking, who earn our respect.

 

No matter where are you from, to find a matching person is very difficult.
