I don't speak Romanian and have little experience in Bucharest and the local ways.

When going for a massage, is one expected to add a tip for the girl?

If yes, what is considered appropriate?

Tiping is not a custom, but it is much apreciated.

Some time ago I used to offer the girl 50 RON for a 200 RON massage without asking for anything extra.

I know the tip is much appreciated. I used to pay 150 RON for an erotic massage. After the massage was over and I asked for nothing extra ... I used to tip the girl with 300 RON because I appreciate the service ... JUST KIDDING ... I also smell the pimp )

Now,seriously...if you go to a restaurant and the waitress treats you nicely and makes you feel like she is giving a little extra than what she's payed for,you let 10% OUT OF YOUR OWN WILL!After all,you PAY FOR the service!Tip should only be given as an appreciation for some extra effort. That doesn't mean she will suck you the next time,but she will treat you nicely,again:)

In other words, the romanians are stingy and very rarely leave a tip.

 

PS: 10-15% is the local custom, but is not mandatory or taxed as in other countries. Should be left only if you were satisfied with the services received.
